Ph. Dunia Al Bastaki is the Acting Director of the Pharmaceutical & Herbal Medicines Registration & Control Administration within the Drug & Food Control Sector of the Ministry of Health, Kuwait, and Head of the Drug Registration Department. She has extensive experience in pharmaceutical regulation, registration, pharmacovigilance, GMP inspection and regulatory policy.
She has led the assessment and registration of human medicines, biologicals, herbal medicines, veterinary medicines, health products and medical devices, including review of clinical, non-clinical and quality modules within CTD dossiers. She has also contributed to pharmaceutical product lifecycle management, post-marketing safety monitoring, GCC regulatory collaboration and the development of national and regional regulatory guidelines.
Dunia has served on Gulf Health Council committees, Kuwait national pharmacovigilance and medical-device vigilance initiatives, and Ministry of Health procurement and vaccine-related committees. She has contributed to GCC and Arab regulatory guidelines covering registration, stability, bioequivalence, patient information, renewals and variations, and is an experienced speaker, moderator and trainer at local, regional and international conferences.
